Beck Silverman

Beck Silverman is a bassist, guitarist, and vocalist with a deep performance history across funk, rock, and indie projects. He’s currently a member of Sun People Funk, bringing groove-driven bass work to a modern funk sound., He’s been a core performer with School of Rock since 2017, earning back-to-back selections to the elite AllStars program—reserved for the top 1% of students nationwide. Across all of his projects he’s built a reputation for versatility, musical maturity, and a strong live presence, positioning him as a young player already operating with professional discipline and range.


Sun People Funk

Sun People Funk is a funk–soul–pop–rock fusion group co-founded by Beck Silverman. The band is rooted in live performance, known for its versatility and tight ensemble playing. In addition to building a reputation as a high-energy crowd-pleasing act, the group has also gained significant traction on social media, where clips of their rehearsals have gone viral and expanded their audience well beyond local venues.


SCHOOL OF ROCK / HOUSE BAND

The School of Rock New Canaan House Band is the program’s premier ensemble, and Beck has been a core member for eight years while completing 26 different performance programs across multiple genres. He’s emerged as a consistent leader—reliable, prepared, and able to elevate the musicians around him. He’s performed at major venues including The Bitter End, Ridgefield Playhouse, Toad’s Place, The Capitol Theatre, and Rye Playland, gaining extensive live experience and a strong reputation within the School of Rock community.


World Machine

World Machine, a three-piece group Beck co-founded, named after the Level 42 album that heavily influenced his playing. He performed on both guitar and bass, and the band developed an eclectic style while playing local venues. It was a compact, low-key project that added steady live experience alongside his larger commitments.


School of Rock All-Stars

The School of Rock All-Stars program is the organization’s top global ensemble, selecting fewer than 1% of students worldwide for national tours and professional studio work. Beck auditioned twice on bass and was selected both times, earning All-Stars status in back-to-back years—a distinction that highlights exceptional musicianship and leadership within an international field of applicants.


ELECTRIC JANE

Electric Jane was a project formed specifically to compete in Band Jam, the local youth music competition held at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The group delivered a standout performance and finished as the runner-up. Beck played bass in the band—and at just 12 years old, it marked one of his earliest high-level live achievements.


Gramcavë

Gramcave was a recording project that asked Beck to play bass on the track “Marble Shoes.” He was given full creative freedom and developed his own Beatles-esque, Paul McCartney–inspired melodic line, which added shape and movement to the song’s dreamy, ambient indie vibe.


SCHOOL OF ROCK SUMMER PROGRAM

Beck worked as an instructor at the School of Rock New Canaan and Ridgefield, CT summer program music camps, where he led performance programs and taught individual bass and guitar lessons. He worked with students ages 7–15, guiding them through technique, song preparation, and ensemble skills while supporting the overall rehearsal process.


BACH 2 ROCK SUMMER PROGRAM

Beck taught for the Bach 2 Rock summer camp program in Ridgefield, CT, leading group sessions and giving individual bass and guitar lessons for students ages 7–12. His work focused on fundamentals, song development, and preparing young musicians for basic ensemble playing.


BEST BUDDIES SUMMER MUSIC PROGRAM

Beck volunteered with the Best Buddies Summer Music Program for the Ridgefield Public Schools, teaching music to children ages 6–10. He helped introduce basic musical skills, supported group activities, and created an encouraging environment for young beginners.
